My Best Friend's Wedding :)

MY HUBBY IS HOME ON LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!! So, that's why I've been inactive online this week... that and as the title of this post says, we've had our best friends' wedding! So, it's been a wonderful week!

It took FOREVER for the Hubby to get home!! We waited an extra day and THEN continued waiting as the hours of that day ticked by. It seems like he couldn't catch a break. I mean, he was laid over in one airport and then missed the flight to the next airport by 6 minutes, resulting in another 4 hour wait! But he finally made it home!! I was on pins and needles all day, anxiously awaiting the time when I could get in the car and pick him up!! He made it in, we spent a little time over at my parents' house and they gave him his late Christmas/early birthday gifts! He got an amazing jacket for his bike, a new cover lense for his helmet, an all-weather cover and a new black shield for his bike! They also got him some pegs for both sides that help keep him and the bike safe if he were to ever side it, and those will be installed next week! He was soo excited and ready to ride his bike!! We relaxed for a few days as he got over his jet lag and we adapted to being together again! And then it was full force into the wedding planning!

Leslie and I went shopping on Tuesday and then while Adam and David were at Adam's bachelor party Wednesday night, we packed for her honeymoon, sorted for the wedding stuff we needed to take to Norman, and wrote the wedding ceremony! It was so much fun!!

Thursday... Oh Thursday! It started off as a normal day, and then Dave and I went out to buy him a nice pair of khakis and some shoes to wear for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. We were just about to pass the AT&T store when David suggested we go in so that we can LOOK AT phones for when we downgrade from our iPhones. Ok. I can do that. But then he picked a phone and was ready to switch them over RIGHT THEN!!! Excuse me?!? I have a wedding in 2 days and everyone is communicating with me about every detail of it.. no way. I was deer-in-headlights for about 2 hours. I picked a phone, but I was panicked the entire time. And then I had a slight breakdown when I couldn't figure out how to use any aspect of the new phone... THEN we realized the lady who switched my phone over did so without activating the internet or allowing text messages, voicemails.. anything. And they were closed by the time we figured it all out. So, we just had to wait until the next day.

Friday was a new day!! Friday morning, we headed out to begin the wedding festivities!! Dave and I went to OKC early to get my nails filled in and then raced to an AT&T store to fix my phone before we had to meet Adam, Leslie and the other groomsmen. Everyone was running late and I couldn't figure out how to use the map on my phone for the life of me!! Plus, no one had eaten anything.. Needless to say, we were all on edge. Leslie and I ran to grab the tablecloths for the reception while the boys all tried on and got their tuxes. Then we made a quick stop by Panda Express before going to the hotel. Another speedbump.. Our suites weren't ready and the lady who checked us in wasn't the most knowledgable and she preceeded to charge us twice... at check in. Really. After a 20 minute check-in, we all had about 3 minutes to get ready for the rehearsal, which we were slightly late for, BUT considering everything.. it was JUST fine! :) The rehearsal went well and we had time to regroup and calm down some before the rehearsal dinner at Rudy's BBQ!

The food was delicious and it was WONDERFUL to just be able to sit back and relax with friends and Leslie & Adam's family. Amanda had her little boy, Derek, with her.. and we are known as Uncle David and Aunt Sarah to Little DerBear! David loved getting to play with him, and I can't say that I denied a single opportunity to play with him!! He's such a cutie!

When we got done with dinner, we headed back to the hotel to finish up the last of the wedding projects! We put the programs together, made harnesses for Paco and Zoe (Leslie and Adam's puppies) to walk down the aisle, tested out the sand for the ceremony, and put together all the flowers and bouquets!! Gosh they were beautiful!! The boys were kind enough to run errands for us throughout the night! And we were able to get plenty of sleep before the WEDDING DAY ARRIVED!!!!

We got up and around on wedding day and while Leslie was getting her hair fixed, Amanda and Caitlin went to get their makeup done! We dealt with a few minor issues on the day of the wedding, but other than that, everything was nice and relaxing! We had the most epic Bridal Meal, if I do say so myself, complete with a Chick-Fil-A lunch, fruit, chocolate covered strawberries, cheese, meat and crackers and topped off with the most amazing mimosas!!

Perfection! Plus, I got to hang out with this little cutie all day!! :)

Gosh, I adore him!! We all got done fixing up our hair and makeup, checked out of the hotel, loaded up the cars, and headed to the chapel!! Our dressing room was incredible!! It was a wonderful place of relaxation that was an escape from the chaos and wedding prep occuring on the other side of the door!

OH! And Leslie designed our jewelry that we wore during the wedding!! She designed these beautiful necklaces and earrings that were personalized for each of us and matched our dresses perfectly!! They are incredible!!

We got Leslie all dressed and ready, finished setting up the decorations for the ceremony and reception and had her ready and waiting in the chapel to see her soon-to-be Husband!!

And then WE, the bridesmaids, got ready to join her for pictures!!

Oh my goodness did she look beautiful!!! And I'm SUPER impressed that we got pictures done as quickly as we did!!

Oh.. and here are our cute shoes!! I love this shot! :)

The wedding was wonderful! Before walking down the aisle, we hit a few hiccups.. BOTH the dogs harnesses came undone and quickly had to be put back on, there was a confusion on whether or not to say "I do" or "I will" for the vows, and a slight question of how to walk down the aisle. But it all got worked out! The puppies coming down the aisle were SO precious and once they finished walking down the aisle, I don't remember them even being there because Leslie was so breathtaking! I was literally sobbing as she walked down the aisle and Matt's arrangement of Only Time by Enya played! It was all so incredible!! The ceremony was amazing and absolutely perfect! WHEW!!! We got the license signed, pictures taken and the dress all bustled up and headed into the reception!!

Leslie and Adam had a father/daughter dance...

A mother/son dance...

and then Leslie sang "In My Daughter's Eyes" to her Mom. It was beautiful!

Then we had an anniversary dance that David and I got to dance to and then we all boogied for the rest of the reception!

I got to see my SISTER, which I was soo pumped about!! And she and David were able to hang out and chat while I ran around doing MOH duties!!

David and I were supposed to give a toast when Leslie and Adam cut the cake, but he backed out on his public speaking opportunity at the last minute.. GOSH!! BUT, regardless, it was good! :) And thankfully, I got my own photo with the blushing bride before she had to change and head out the door!

The reception was incredible and SO much fun! It was over before we realized it and we were taking Leslie out of her dress, throwing all of her things into her bags and trying to clean up the Bridal Suite to head her out the door and on to the honeymoon!

It didn't take long to get her and Adam ready and into their very nicely decorated vehicle! ;) For the record, I had NO part in decorating it. Apparently, it would have been too obvious to Leslie if I was gone during the reception.... so, I did NOT paint the car. But I know who did! ;) They ran through rows of sparklers and headed off to their dream vacation!! We quickly cleaned up and left the chapel, all ready to be home and get some much needed sleep after a beautiful wedding and a busy weekend!

Seriously, David and I slept until Sunday afternoon. We were both SO tired, but the work was worth it! He said I snored on Saturday night, which means I'm in pretty deep sleep.. but he loves when I snore. Imagine that! LOL We've just been kind of spending the past few days at home and relaxing! The plan tomorrow is to take the dogs out to the lake and have a fun day outdoors with a picnic! It'll be nice!! I'm excited to just be able to be with him and to spend time with him! It makes everything perfect having him home, even if it's just for a little bit!! So, I'm off to enjoy time with my Hubby! Have a good rest of the week!!
